Nature blends in beautifully with the panoramic view from this spectacular swimming pool that includes a view of the scenic Umpqua River valley just outside Roseburg, Oregon as well as a great view of the solar system that heats it.
This 540 square foot freeform pool was built in 2007. That summer, the owner incurred a $400 bill for just one month’s heating. Like many other pool owners with the same experience, he started searching for alternatives.
His pool builder recommended Gen-Con, Inc. of Portland to design and install a solar heating system. Living on Sunshine Road and heating his pool with free energy from the sun just seemed like the right thing to do.
Gen-Con has been providing its customers in the northwest with quality solar heating systems since 1981. Due to their performance and outstanding record, Gen-Con selected Aquatherm’s Solar Industries collectors for the job. The twelve collector system was installed on the garage roof and a Goldline GLC-2 automatic control. The system is designed to provide a May through September swim season.
This is just one example of how well solar pool heaters work, no matter what state or climate zone you live in. That is why over 70,000 pool owners choose to use free, environmentally friendly solar energy to heat their pools every year.
In fact, solar pool heating is so effective that it’s the largest use of solar energy in the world and accounts for over 90% of all solar collector shipments.
